Meet Karin and Mark, an adorable couple who met and fell in love in within the state of Texas.  Karen came to Mark’s work for a job interview and in Mark’s own words, “When I first met Karin, she was stunning, standing tall and confident in her black skirt suit. She was telling a story. Her expressions were honest and sincere. My heart pounded.  I had to meet her.  She was exactly what I wanted – a beautiful business minded woman with grace and integrity.”  Sweet right?  Truth be told though, they were both nervously excited upon meeting each other for the first time and those nerves have carried them 5 years since.  To this day, they still continue to feel “butterflies.” So on their fifth year, Mark asked Karin to be his bride.  In planning the wedding, they both opted for the no fuss, non-stress approach,  deciding that a wedding at their local Memphis court house might be best. However, googling the process had dashed their hopes because they soon realized that even civil ceremonies require a ton planning! So they set off into planning a magical and enchanting backyard wedding, set to the tune of Karin’s childhood home in Topanga Canyon, sharing and embracing the old with the new.

Because the wedding took place in Topanga, I decided to take advantage of the local landscape.  Stony Point Park was where we laid our scene for the portraits.

Because the wedding was set outdoors, the color pallet was infused with lush shades of green and their wedding color of choice- rustic purples with romantic shades of peach as an accent.  Their cake was produced to perfection by Porto’s Bakery, a local bakery in Glendale, and was topped off with two purple love birds.  The entire backyard had a warm and inviting feel with candlelight being its primary source of ambiance; floating candles within the pool and tea lights were at every turn.  Rosebuds hung by the dozens, from every branch of every tree.  It was exactly want they wanted- low key and romantic, surrounded by only their closest family and friends.  In their own words, “It was uniquely ours.”

The day started with warm sand, clear blue skies and colorful sombreros.  Sombreros?… That’s right.  It was not only Stephanie and Andrew’s wedding day, it was also Cinco de Mayo and the {jcp} team would be celebrating and documenting it all within beautiful Manhattan Beach, which is where Andrew and Stephanie first met.  They met at the 6 man Vollyball Tournament to be specific, the biggest beach volleyball tournament (slash party) in the world.  They met, they flirted, they partied and they fell in love and they’ve been “happily ever after” for about 2 1/2 years since.

Their wedding, was draped in classic black & white with a pinch of red and a dash of sassy leopard.  Stephanie wore Christian Louboutin’s which accessorized three stunning dresses that she changed into throughout the evening.  The grand entrance, will never be forgotten.   Accompanied by the song “Three Little Birds,” by Bob Marley, they delicately floated in and circled round the dance floor, then quickly broke out into a choreographed number (complete with the robot) to “I’m sexy and I Know It,” by LMFAO.  Yes, this couple is nothing short of a good time.  And it all took place at the beautiful “Verandas.”  Manhattan Beach- where they first met, first started dating and have since made their home  so having their vows announced there as well, only made perfect sense.

On a recent engagement shoot, we hired “Treelawn Productions” to come out with us and document what it’s like to work with the {jcp} team and we are over-the-moon with the final short they then put together for us.  We’ve worked with “Treelawn Productions” before,  on a variety of weddings and events.   They have always been fun, professional and talented.  And they consistently carry a fierce work ethic with them.  So naturally, we hired them for our own project and naturally, they delivered.  We love you Treelawn!

So here it is, in all its glory, a {jcp} first…. our very first commercial!

We hope you enjoy.
